I have narrowed down the issue with my E61 a little. Messaging freezes after I have changed the profile to offline and then at a later time turned it back to general. This also stops all incoming text messages and at times phone calls being received. As soon as I turn the device off and back on text messages and missed calls pop up? I am going to update to the latest OS version to see if that helps. No big deal but an odd problem…
One more quick question- why does Mailbox ‘IMAP’ in use keep popping up whenever I forward or reply to messages? I have heard of others with this issue and it is very minor so I’m curious more than anything else.
I haven’t experienced your Messaging bug on my E61 but then i must only have used the offline mode 1 or 2 times.
However, it sounds almost identical to very annoying problem i had with my Sendo X (Symbian OS 6, Series 60 1st edition). Every now and then, the phone would stop receiving SMS and phone calls even though everything looked perfectly normal. The only solution was to restart it and as soon as the phone was restarted, I was flooded with dozens of SMS, delivery reports and voice mail alerts. Sometimes, there was so many of them arriving at once that the phone couldn’t handle it and froze forcing another restart.
About your “Mailbox ‘IMAP’ in use” message: this message is usually displayed if you have defined more than 1 email account on your phone. Whenever you create a new email and reply to an existing email, this message pops-up to remind you of which email account is going to be used when sending the message. In your case, it looks one of your email account is called “IMAP”. You can get rid of it by deleting any extra email account that you have created (that’s if you don’t need them of course).
