Papyrus 1.2 finally released!!!

Filed under: Software — stmcgill @ 4:46 pm

Papyrus 1.2 has finally been released for 3rd generation devices including the E61 (thanks to Anil)- “After working for two months since version 1.1.09 was released, releasing 22 beta versions (!). We are pleased to announce today the release of Papyrus 1.2!

Since version 1.1.09 was released, we’ve been working really hard towards the new Papyrus 1.2. The new Payprus version, as you know by now, fully supports Series 60 3rd Edition devices. In order for this to work we had to make a complete re-write of the core code, make a lot of great improvements with the help of our dedicated beta team, and we made sure to get Papyrus looking even more professional than it already was!

As usual, this new version is a free upgrade for all registered Papyrus users  Additional information on how to update to the latest version for registered users is included towards the end of the post.”

Just installed it- new entries come up with ‘No Subject’ and it them came up with ‘Memory Full’ and refused to close…

Starting application…

I decided to update the E61 today but after installing the updater application and trying to run it I just get ’starting application’ and then nothing else happens? Sorry to come up with another issue but if anyone else has had this problem and knows the answer I would be very grateful :)

Navigator 6 tomorrow

I will have my copy of TomTom Navigator 6 delivered tomorrow and will post my initial thoughts in the evening. Apparently it is rock solid on the E61 so it should be an interesting test. Just being able to install it will put it ahead of some of the competition :)

  • Easy to use: The simple installation and intuitive user menu gives you the perfect navigation experience.
  • Detailed maps of your region + the major roads of Europe on a memory card: Door-to-door navigation in your region and cross border navigation to any town in Europe.
  • Clear and accurate spoken and visual instructions: Easy to follow route instructions and crystal clear 2D or 3D maps lead you from door-to-door whether you travel by car, by bike or on foot
  • Easy call handling: Never miss a call or SMS message while navigating through on-screen instructions.
  • Not a daily bug after all?

I have narrowed down the issue with my E61 a little. Messaging freezes after I have changed the profile to offline and then at a later time turned it back to general. This also stops all incoming text messages and at times phone calls being received. As soon as I turn the device off and back on text messages and missed calls pop up? I am going to update to the latest OS version to see if that helps. No big deal but an odd problem…

One more quick question- why does Mailbox ‘IMAP’ in use keep popping up whenever I forward or reply to messages? I have heard of others with this issue and it is very minor so I’m curious more than anything else.
