E61/65 Blog

What do you want?

Filed under: Articles — stmcgill @ 6:52 am

When I announced this Blog last Saturday I was aiming for 2000 hits in the first week- 12000 hits later I am starting to wonder if there are indeed a LOT more E61 users out there that I originally thought.

The problem is that the Blog format is a bit limiting and thus your comments would be appreciated regarding if you would like this to stay as a Blog or if you would prefer a full site with a forum, membership and all of the other bits that go with it. Let me know and I will see what can be done.

  1. Hi, been going through your blog for a while now, i got my E61 a month back and am knocking my self out with it. Love your blog and would like to see it evolve. A full fledged website might really be a good idea. Let me know if i can be of any help.

    Regards

  2. I go for the full site. But I do like the simplicity of the Blog but I’m missing notifications options for comments so a site with a forum would be nice!

  3. I’d say as long as you are offering unique content, stick with the blog format BUT, if there are other blogs who you know will write the same stuff, add some value to the site. I’d personally like to see an E61 specific software and themes directory to save us all from browsing through poorly made sites which mix content for different handsets.

  5. Lets stay with it like that - it became unique, sleek and very up to date. It is completely enough for contributors to use “comments” - and maybe you get back to some comments if they are “useful for the masses” in the blog.
    Very nice blog!

  6. Personaly I like the blog-format, I only wish there was a mobile version, like e-series.org.

As is there are already several forums I have to check every day, like my-symbian.com and allaboutsymbian.com.

In short, I really love your blog, and check it several times a day. And often is rewarded with new contend.

    Nice !

  8. There are a lot of great forums already available and you need so much more work to manage a forum. Also, changing to CMS gives more options and functionality but tends to scare some visitors away. Its so…BIG!!!!

A blog is prefect for expressing thoughts, news and similar things. Stick with the blog, thats my advice.

  9. I prefer the blog, it keeps me up to date. I just don’t have the time to spend on forums after wading through the more than 100 blogs I’m subscribed to.

  10. Noo please forumns noo!! Mailling lists are the future!! (I hate forums… I love having a threaded folder on my mail program… reding a list on my E60 without opening a browser……)

    Cheers,

  13. I prefer the blog format. Very simple and easy to navigate. Very organised too. As Steve Litchfield said, please add email notifications of replies to comments.

    Keep up the great work!

    Cheers. :)

  14. Personally, i like the blog format.
On the other hand, if you turn it into a website, it will be easier to find sections, and to dos, and over time, i guess it will be necessary just to find some info.
For instance, i still have issues with the poor implementation fo Wifi, and would like a tutorial to make it work.
On games, i could recommend you magilines, it’s an irresistible time waister !

    Keep up the good work,

    Pierre
