Thankfully the E61 appears to be one device that does not fall over at even a sniff of Sat Nav (unlike the Treo…) so it is advisable to have a decent holder for it when travelling.
The Universal European made Executive Tower PDA Mount / PDA Holder is my cradle of choice and it works well with the Nokia, leaving room for charging and also having a firm grip on the sides.
A friend of mine who also works on PDA247 had a crash in his car a few months ago and it was basically a write off. Guess what, the cradle was still stuck to his windscreen- that says a lot about it. Well worth £24.95.
“Looking for vibration free mount solution for your PDA? This excellent, versatile European made Executive Tower Mount is perfect answer. Looking to use your PDA in car for Satellite Navigations? The Executive Tower Holder has screw tightened swivel head that rotates 360 degrees so that it can holder your PDA in vertical or in horizontal position. Extendible arm allows for perfect and optimum viewing position. Once you have the perfect setting, all you have to do is tighten the screws and freeze the setting. This Universal Holder uses patented ratchet system and is made to last, unlike some cheaper holders. The suction mount is one of the strongest available in the market today, if not the strongest and it comes with a Self-Adhesive disc so that it can be mounted on top of the dashboard or on windshield. You’ve spent hundreds on your PDA, so why spend money on cheap PDA holder s that may last few months? These holders are guaranteed for 12 months.”
I had a CARK-91 carkit in my Passat TDI Sport and after the upgrade to my Nokia E61 was left wondering how to upgrade. I could have gone straight for the bluetooth kit plus fitting but opted instead for a CR-47 car cradle from ebay and a nokia CA-55 conversion cable.
The cradle is excellent and my E61 fits in nice and snugly, the CA-55 is easy to fit and im now driving with Navicore GPS sat-nav with a damage-free cradle attachement for the car, audio-mute to the stero all working just great.
If there are any other CARK-91 owners out there, this is a great phone and quite a painless way to upgrade your existing car kit.

Is the CR-47 totally damage-free for the car? I could not find a good picture that show how to fix it in the car. I ordered one and I was a little worried that I would have to make holes for the screws.

Hi,
The CR47 can attach to a compatible car holder – the one I had in the passat before was one which fitted in between the air vents left of the steering wheel – but I got a new one which basically clips over the plastic to the left of the gearknob – its damage free and sits really soundly, then you screw in the part which comes with the CR-47 onto the plate of the car holder – I’ll post a link to some pics which I’ll take, if you want any info just mail me at mike at stayhosted dot com.
P.S the CR47 has an inbuilt antenna which you can couple up to an external car aerial and is in my opinion a cheaper replacement for the CARK-91 – but dont forget the CA-55 adapter if your looking to replace a CARK-91
